At Buttercross Theatre Productions, we run a wide range of classes for all ages - whether you are a budding script writer, want to act on the stage, star in your own film, aspire to be a singer and a dancer or are just looking to have fun...we've got you covered!
YOUTH THEATRE
Ages 6 - 10 / 11 - 17
Our sessions are tailored to work through different genres to develop and enhance creativity such as improvisation, development of characters, script work, working with puppets, vocal and singing. We aim to boost confidence and self esteem, nurture hidden talents, aid in the development of life skills and performance techniques.
DRAMA & VOCAL
Ages 18+
Step into a world of meeting new people, boost your self confidence & self esteem, let us nurture your hidden talents. Let your creativity run riot, find your voice through our fun filled combined sessions. We will take you through performance techniques such as developing characters, improvisation, script work, vocal and singing and much more.
mUSICAL THEATRE DANCE
Ages 7 - 15 / 18+
Whether you enjoy singing along to Disney in the car or shimmying to your favourite show tunes in your bedroom, our Musical Theatre Workshops offer you the chance to learn some of the actual routines from some of the West End and Broadway hits. Aimed at all levels of performance experience, these workshops aim to give you a taste of performing as a ‘Swing’ in some of the most well-known show dances. Shows include West Side Story, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Hairspray and Wicked.
BURLESQUEAges 18+
Would you like to add a bit of glamour, fun and playfulness to your life? Join us for some fun and release your inner self. Through our burlesque workshops, we teach the art of dancing, acting and performing and encourage you to have lots of fun.
ACTING FOR SCREEN & TV
Ages 10 - 15
Have you ever wanted to know how to act in front of a camera? Ever wanted to find out how they do it in Hollywood? Join us for the opportunity to learn the skills you need for screen acting. Through fun exercises, improvisations and script work, we’ll explore what makes a compelling and truthful screen performance. We’ll teach you all the techniques of acting in front of the camera and what happens behind the camera. You’ll have the chance to star in your own film and if you wanted to further your career in the acting field, we can offer the possibility of joining a professional acting agency.
GOLDEN YEARS DRAMA
Ages 50+
If you’re looking for a new hobby, looking to make new friends or have an interest in the performance arts arena, come and step into a world of meeting new people, boost your self confidence, self esteem, develop your hidden talents and let your creativity run riot. Find your voice through our fun filled sessions.
What you'll learn
In our relaxed environment, we'll encourage you to develop your performance skills and technique. You might also take interest in the technical 'behind-the-scenes' side of things - be it designing costumes, props, programmes and scripts! It's a great environment to make new friends and to work on your communication skills and teamwork.
